By car from the North or East
Using the Sandbanks ferry
This is the shorter route and can be a quicker route than driving around Poole harbour, but it can also take
very much longer at peak times. If you don’t mind the wait, it is a very pleasant view of the harbour and
Marina.

• From the M27 West, Continue on A31  11.3 miles
• Exit onto A338 toward Three Legged Cross/Verwood/Christchurch/Bournemouth  0.3 miles
• Slight left to stay on A338  9.0 miles
• At the roundabout, take the 2nd exit onto A35/Wessex Way
• Go through 1 roundabout  2.0 miles
• At the roundabout, take the 2nd exit onto B3065/The Ave
• Turn left to stay on B3065/The Ave
• Continue to follow B3065
• Go through 1 roundabout  2.5 miles
• Turn left at B3369/Shore Rd
• Continue to follow B3369
• Go through 1 roundabout  1.3 miles
• Continue on Ferry Way
• Take the Sandbanks - S Haven Point ferry  0.2 miles
• Continue straight onto Ferry Rd
• Go through 1 roundabout  3.1 miles
• Continue on B3351/Swanage Rd
• Turn left at Studland Stores, then see below

Not using the ferry
This is longer than using the ferry, but is a predictable time and includes great views of Corfe Castle and the
Isle of Purbeck.

• From the M27 West, Continue on A31
• Go through 3 roundabouts  14.8 miles
• At the roundabout, take the 1st exit onto A347/Ringwood Rd heading to West
• Parley/Ferndown/Longham/Bournemouth/A348
• Continue to follow Ringwood Rd
• Go through 7 roundabouts  5.4 miles
• At the roundabout, take the 2nd exit onto A3049/Canford Way heading to
• Upton/A350/Dorchester/Poole/Hamworthy/A35
• Continue to follow A3049
• Go through 2 roundabouts  3.3 miles
• At Holes Bay North Roundabout, take the 2nd exit onto A35 heading to
• Upton/A350/Blandford/Dorchester/Wareham/Hamworthy  3.5 miles
• At Bakers Arms Roundabout, take the 1st exit onto A351
• Go through 4 roundabouts  3.7 miles
• At the roundabout, take the 2nd exit and stay on A351
• Go through 3 roundabouts  5.1 miles
• Turn left at B3351 by Corfe Castle, under the railway bridge  5.1 miles
• Turn right at Studland Stores, and then see below.By car from the West
• From the A35, turn right at B3075/Chitten Hill (signs for B3075/Sandford/Wareham)
• Continue to follow B3075  3.1 miles
• At the roundabout, take the 2nd exit onto A351/Sandford Rd
• Continue to follow A351
• Go through 1 roundabout  1.0 mile
• At the roundabout, take the 2nd exit and stay on A351
• Go through 3 roundabouts  5.1 miles
• Turn left at B3351 by Corfe Castle, under the railway bridge  5.1 miles
• Turn right at Studland Stores, and then see below.

From Studland Stores
• Go down School Lane and drive around the memorial cross on a small mound into Watery Lane.
• Very shortly after this, take a track on the right just before the first house and follow it towards
some trees
• The track curves around to the left and goes through a gate into some fields.
• Continue on this track until you see camp
